We made a trip to Sydney on the weekend and decided it would be fun to book a mystery hotel and see where we ended up. We went through the last minute booking site need it now and got a really good deal, even though it was a Friday and Saturday night in school holiday time.
But best of all – and the main reason that I love mystery hotel deals – is that we ended up somewhere we’d never stayed before.
We specified five-star in the Sydney CBD and got the Swissotel Sydney, which is above Myer on Pitt Street Mall. Because it doesn’t have the street presence of some of the other CBD hotels I sometimes forget it’s there and probably wouldn’t have thought to book it, but it was actually the perfect hotel for our stay. It’s smack bang in the middle of the city and we could walk everywhere – Circular Quay, East Sydney, Hyde Park, Darling Harbour and Chinatown.
I really liked the hotel, too. Our room was very sleek and modern and filled with natural light, thanks to huge windows. I’d definitely stay there again. Unless I was booking another mystery hotel, of course!
